Spielberg's Jaws franchise is built on the tension between the postcard beauty of Amity Island and the terror beneath it. The first film's warm blue-green ocean, the cheerful colors of a summer resort, the red that appears with horrible punctuation. The sequels moved into ever-more tropical settings, but the original's power came from photographing paradise and finding the monster inside it.
